Day 322: Treasured Memories Day

"Often, people find that they can remember the faces of casual acquaintances perfectly even years later, but not those of their departed nearest and dearest. Guard against the march of time by taking a good look at your loved ones' features today and committing them to memory."

I feel like I already had a pretty good grasp on them, but I took an extra hard look today just to be sure.

Day 321: Bail a Stranger out of Jail

"Find out if you can truly trust in man's innate goodness. Every day thousands of petty criminals are available for release from jail pending trial, yet can't afford the relatively paltry sums necessary to post bail. Call up your local courthouse and ask for suitable cases."

I called up the local sheriff's office, which is where the county holding cells are, and asked if I could come in a bail somebody out. It turns out that for various vague legal reasons, I have to actually know the person in order to bail them out. Oh well, at least I tried.

Day 320: Posterity Day

"Don't sink into the oblivion of ages. Give humanity something to remember you by, whether it be a work of art, a feat of arms, or simply the sheer force of your personality. Today, decide what you want to be remembered for and set about writing yourself in history."

I've always thought that I'd really like to have my own place in history. For some reason, I've always had this idea in my head that one day, people are going to remember who I was and there would be a good reason for that. Today, I'm officially starting a food blog that I've been wanting to do for a while. I've been told that I have a really unique way about thinking about things, especially food and I think that with an outlet to express my ideas and share my thoughts, I could set myself down a good path towards having something meaningful happen with my life.

Day 319: No Underwear Day!

"Today, dispense with your usual undergarments and enjoy a breezier lifestyle. MEDICAL FACT: According to a study on "Tight-fitting Underwear and Sperm Quality" published on June 29, 1996, in the medical journal The Lancet, tight underwear is not recommended for men trying to become fathers as it may raise testes temperature to a point where it becomes detrimental to sperm count. Also harmful are hot tubs and saunas. So leave those briefs at home and hang loose."

Since I have to work standing on my feet for around 8 hours straight tonight, I don't think I'll go the full commando for work. However, before I leave for work I have been enjoying the so-called breezier lifestyle.

Day 318: Indulge Yourself

"Today, sample as many of the finest things in life as your circumstances allow."

Today during staff meal at work, I took my fill of all the good bits first and gave myself a little bit of a break from cleaning up to relax and enjoy them. I even managed to snag one of the leftover desserts and have it all to myself. It's not much, but it's the little things that count.

Day 317: Discipline Day

"Don't be a slave to your every impulse. Develop the willpower to overcome your body's inherent laziness and reap the rewards. You cannot master external circumstances, but you can begin to master your own mind."

Today, I managed to resist several of my impulses and avoid snacking on various things before, during, and after work tonight. I feel super proud of myself.

Day 316

"We are each exposed to 2000 commercials a day on average. Today, count them."

Being that I didn't watch too much TV, listen to much radio, or read any newspapers today, I limited the amount of ads I was exposed to by quite a bit. As far as I can recall, I only saw 35 or 36.
