Day 308

"Perform a Self Medical"

I didn't get a chance to do too in-depth of an examination, but everything seems to be in good working order. Yay for not dying yet!

Day 307: Random Day

"Count the number of buses you see on your way to work. Multiply this number by 3 and divide it by 2. Buy as many candy bars. Hand them out randomly to different people. Write down what they tell you - word for word - on a piece of paper. Fold the papers and put them each in an envelope. Seal. Find random addresses in a telephone directory. Stamp the envelopes and send to addresses. Wait and see."

So I only saw two buses today, which ends up to 1.5 candy bars. I bought one but I never found anybody to give it to. I'll have to try again later.

Day 306: Vote Today!

"After the Florida 2000 chad debacle, the Book's authors have take it upon themselves to design an improved ballot form. Not only does it offer more extensive options, but it can also be cast in advance! Just complete it and send it in to The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20500, in time for the next election."

Thankfully, I've already registered to vote and I live in a small enough town where going to the school on Tuesday won't be too much of a problem. Hooray!

Day 305

"Draw attention to an unsung hero"

British fossil collector and paleontologist Mary Anning(1799-1847) was only twelve years old and the child of a poor family when she made her first seminal discovery. While fossil-hunting on the cliffs of Lyme Regis, England, she found the first dinosaur skeleton, that of an ichthyosaur. Until her landmark discovery, animal extinction was believed to be impossible. Though her gender and social class made it difficult for her to fully participate in the scientific community of 19th-century Britain, she read as much scientific literature as she could get her hands on and went on to become a renowned fossil-hunter and dealer, often risking her life in the face of landslides and daunting cliffs. The great Stephen Jay Gould, arguably the most beloved popular science writer of all time, famously called Anning “probably the most important unsung (or inadequately sung) collecting force in the history of paleontology” — indeed, her work ignited a fundamental shift in scientific thinking about prehistoric life in the early 19th century.

Day 304

"Today, set an hour aside from your schedule."

Today, I decided to set an hour aside to coach my girlfriend in some good old fashioned vidja games. She's not the best so far, but that's what I'm here for.

Day 303: Report a UFO Sighting

"If over 10 people report sightings in the same area, a US government agency investigation is automatically triggered, anywhere on the planet."

Since I am a firm believer that there HAS to be life somewhere else out there in the universe, if I'm going to report a sighting it has to be legit. So I went out tonight and gazed up at what few stars I could actually see, but unfortunately I didn't see anything report-worthy. Maybe some day...

Day 302: Invent your very own Milkshake and make a Fortune

"In 1933, little Ricki Putz got fed up with selling plain old lemonade on the street corner like every other schmucky kid in his neighborhood. So what does he do? He goes home to Ma, and he asks her for some leftover milk and a couple scoops of ice cream. Then he takes the cored-out pumpkin from Halloween the previous week, he mashes everything together in the garage real good, and hey presto, Putz's-Pokey-Pumpkin-O-Shake is born! Little Ricki himself unfortunately died of food poisoning not so long afterwards, God bless his soul, but his descendants today are rich on the proceeds."

Today I made something that I'm sure somebody has made before, but I've never had. I made a Peanut Butter & Jelly Milkshake. It was super tasty, but I didn't realize until after I drank it that the photo didn't save to my phone.
