Day 84

"Today, throw away and apple core in a park. Mark the spot well, and come back in 20 years' time to see your apple tree."

Since it's such a nice day out, I went outside and sat for a bit and had my apple.
 Omnomnomnom

I decided to actually bury it instead of just throwing it out. There's a bunch of animals around here, so I wanted to give my tree the best shot it could get.

Day 83

"Demonstrate the arbitrariness of human timekeeping. Isn't it odd that half of humanity should sleep while the other half are awake? Call someone you know across the ocean in the middle of the day and share this insight with them."

It just so happened that on my last day overseas, this was the task. I called my parents and Sarah before getting on our plane at about 7:00am Italian time, which would be about 2:00am EST

Day 82: Sit in the Lotus Position for 30 Minutes

"Sit on the floor with spine erect and legs stretched out in front of you, slightly apart. Place right foot on left thigh with the sole of foot turned up. Rest right knee on the ground. Take left foot and place it high on right thigh with sole faceing up and left knee resting on the ground. Let feet rest on the pressure points at the top of the groin."

I have bad knees and a crooked back, so I knew that I wouldn't be able to do this. But I did get up a little earlier than I needed to and sat (somewhat) cross-legged for the half hour and did some deep breathing type stuff. It actually felt really nice, up until I fell back asleep.

Day 81: Celebrate Nature

"Lure a fly onto this page and swat it"

Since I didn't want to get fly guts onto The Book, I just swat a fly on the wall. Not really anything terribly interesting.

Day 80: Start to Eat a Piece of Furniture

"You will need: a piece of wooden furniture, a nail file. Shave off a small amount of wood from your piece of furniture. Sprinkle it on your lunch. Enjoy! Persevere every day, and you should be able to eat the entire piece of furniture within 20 years."
